We left NYC today at noon, where there was a snowstorm... and we got to Wheeling, West Virginia, a little before 9 pm this evening. We stopped for bathroom breaks and some food... but it was still quite the journey. We hit some interesting weather, as well... it got very foggy at times and if I had driven I would have stopped, but fortunately Stephen somehow enjoys driving in torrential weather.
So, we got here and quite the incident with Michelle at the front desk who told us that our confirmation was incorrect... but as we all know the customer is always right, especially when they have a confirmation printed out with them. However, she refused to believe this, and when she did check it the computer told her that our group had 2 doubles and 2 singles, leaving me and Alesia in a Single bed tonight... We're managing 'cause we're cool like that, and in fact having a blast, but we're pissed. Tomorrow we WILL be getting a discount if not the room for free. We refuse to pay full price for this. Ridiculous!
We decided to stay in the room and order Domino's instead of going out to get food, and boy was that a good choice! However, people in Wheeling, WV are a bit slow... Aside from Michelle, the delivery guy brought us the pizza and forgot the receipt. Fortunately, I had 2 bucks to tip him with, but we paid on a credit card so really, he should've had a receipt for Alesia to sign. Instead he had her sign the sticker that said what we ordered. It was silly. Well, we ate this deliciousness. Leftovers are still sitting beside us on the bed. And, we're watching the Olympics- Men's Figure Skating. What's with the costumes? Some people go crazy! And then the ones with normal looking outfits, don't do well... I don't know what it is but Alesia said it best, "I just can't get behind this."
Just now, also, there was a sudden noise and Alesia and I looked up and the person next door is definitely taking a shower as we speak, because we can hear the water as if it's in this room in front of this... or like in our bathroom. Crazy. Super 8... more like Pooper 8!

LES Fun... Scranton, PA... Somerville, NJ
After almost a week without performing the show, we had a show in the Lower East Side at a school on Hester St. on Friday, 2/12. Tracy, our chic director, came to cheer us on. The show went well without a house, which means less of a building process :), even though we were slow about getting back in the swing of things. It was a slightly bizarre space. We had poles that blocked sides of the stage and gave an obstructed view in some scenes to part of the audience... but things happen.
Following the show, we went to the Doughnut Plant, which I have been obsessed with since Junior year at Pace. This brilliant doughnut place beat out Bobby Flay in a Throwdown on the Food Network... so I took everyone there (if those reading couldn't tell, I lovvve sweets). And we had a marvelous time:
The following day, Saturday, we drove to Scranton, PA and did a show at a Masonic Temple. It was mysterious and secretive. One woman was really rude to us... probably bitter 'cause her husband has more than one wife:
Scranton, PA was I guess what one would expect... although Pam and Jim were nowhere in site, the people I saw at Subway and Wendy's, where we went to eat lunch, were definitely look-a-like's to people in The Office. Particularly this one blonde chick at Wendy's with poofy hair.
Then, yesterday, Valentine's Day, we were in Somerville, NJ at a Community College. We did two shows there- fortunately we had help from a crew to bring in and build our set. We ate lunch at Moe's, which is like Chipotle, just sooo much better: they have tofu options! It was spectacular!!!! We got back to NYC by 6:30, but it took me an hour after that to get to where I'm staying in the UES. Ugh. So, I took a lazy evening in for the most part, which was very relaxing.
Then, I woke up this morning, superbly refreshed, ready to take on the day- which might I add is beautiful today. I went and had lunch with a superstar friend, Sami, who's recent stint as 'Diane' in The Little Dog Laughed kicked major big butts. And now, I am taking the day easy- going for a walk to H&M to buy new gloves (mine went missing the other night), meeting up with Elaine in Central Park to get my book back, getting a massage in Hell's Kitchen, things that I don't yet know I'll do, and dinner with David Piazza as a final farewell.
Tomorrow is the big day. We leave NYC at noon for two travel days to Indiana! Yikes... I won't be back in this city for quiite some time, which is a little scary seeing that I've lived here for 4 1/2 years with leaving it only for one full summer after my freshman year, and then the short vacation times I've been away. What scares me the most is the fact that when we do get back in June for another two weeks of shows in the area, I won't have a place to live again, and then I won't be looking for an apartment here, but rather preparing to move back home to California for the summer at least. I plan to spend my summer there making some money and most definitely traveling abroad. Then after that, I will hopefully be back in NYC ASAP! For now, I guess, it's something I can't really think about... I just have to enjoy the fact that I'll be traveling around the U.S. and performing... Away we go!

This delicious vegan brownie made me feel much better this weekend:
I went out to the East Village and had a beautiful nostalgic night with Kate Morris and Rikki Korkowicz the other night... I was reminded of the creative minds that live in this city, and of the delicious treats and hidden gems within New York. It was just lovely to see all of these wildly beautifully dressed Lower East Siders and East Villagers prancing around... I wanna be one of them... pronto. I definitely would like to live in that area when I get back to New York. It just breathes a sort of excitement into my life that is missing when I'm in Washington Heights. The next place I live in NYC, I plan for it to be a place I really want to call home. It needs to be a place where I feel serene walking back to in the evening, and a place I can people watch joyfully. The Heights didn't offer that to me this time around. The apartment I was in was absolutely beauteous and very fulfilling, but the neighborhood did not support that. I plan to be back in the Fall and will then definitely seek a harmonious living situation.
Now I am in the UES staying with lovely family friends.. It's blizzarding. More shows have been cancelled, and we've had off since Saturday. It's been very relaxing. I've basically been at a few auditions (one that went awful yesterday- I forgot my lyrics! It was definitely one of the if not the worst audition I've given. But, I guess that happens).
Yesterday, I celebrated Jennifer's birthday with her, David, and Kendall- a last minute shindig that randomly occurred. And now I am here:
And I have nothing to do at the moment but indulge in being lazy and lounging around... which is very strange to me. I'm a huge go-getter and really like to be busy. I prefer there never to be a dull moment and I pretty much go crazy when I get this bored... Here's hoping for a fulfilling day somehow.

Update
It's been a few days...
I've been sick... still am sick, in fact. I think it's a throat infection :/ gross.
We've been in NYC- I've been staying with the beautiful and talented, and dear friend of mine, Elaine, in midtown. We performed in Queens in the same theater that I saw Mandy Patinkins in concert 2 years ago. We also had two days at Papermill Playhouse out in NJ- so many famous actors made brilliant performances on that stage! It was a beautiful space, and the crew was incredible :)
We were supposed to be in Virginia right now, but because of the snow storm, today and tomorrow's shows got cancelled and we're still in the city. It's been an extra day off- beautiful. It's been nice to have the time off when I'm sick. Pure luck.
And so we're leaving tomorrow in the late afternoon for Maryland for a Tuesday morning show.
